NEW PUMP TRACK OPENS IN REPTON |
||
|
A fabulous community pump track, designed for bikes, scooters, skates and rollers, is now open in a South Derbyshire village.
The Mitre Field Pump Track, located near Burton Road in Repton, is completely free to use and open for public use.
The new pump track is the culmination of multiple hours of hard work by councillors from Repton Parish Council and the local community.
Local police supported the creation of the track and worked closely with local councillors to provide crime prevention advice – and officers are delighted that this new facility is already having a positive impact on the wheeled sports community.
Landscaping is underway with soiled areas being grass seeded.
Visitors are reminded that motorised vehicles and e-scooters are banned from the track.
Chair of Repton Parish Council, Steve Hardwick, said: "I am delighted to see the opening of the pump track. I would particularly like to thank councillor Stu Mason for his brilliant work, and to all the local donors who responded generously to the Crowd Funding Appeal and others who donated privately. I am also grateful to the police for their support and encouragement."
A huge congratulations to Repton Parish Council and the local community of the village for their hard work in making this forward-thinking vision a reality. | ||
